Welcome to 2019/20 Alpine Cycling Club Junior MTB Race Series

This is a great opportunity for children of all ages and abilities to try racing in a fun, inclusive and low key way.

This year we are running six races over five venues:

Sunday 1 December 2019 - Bright
Saturday 14 December 2019 - Falls Creek
Saturday 18 January 2020 - Mount Beauty
Saturday 8 February 2020 - Beechworth
Saturday 29 February 2020 - Yackandandah
Saturday 28 March 2020 - Bright

All courses and duration of races is set to suit the developmental stages of junior riders, there will be two courses running at each event, a shorter, easier course for younger riders and a slightly longer course for older riders.

Whilst some riders will be racing to beat their friends, others will be there for the opportunity to ride a different track with loads of other kids from around the region, everyone is welcome, no matter how fast or slow, as long as they come with a friendly attitude, two wheels and a helmet!

These races are run by club volunteers and extra help is always welcome for timing and marshaling so don't be afraid to offer to help out.

Cost of the races is $10 per race or $50 for the series.

The organisers may elect to combine some age group categories if very low numbers.

A BBQ and series presentation will take place at the final race of the series.

  • A certificate and small prize will be awarded to top 3 in each category at each individual race.
  • Points are awarded on a sliding scale for all riders (best 5 races)
  • Series results will not be published until the end of the series as the main goal of the series is participation
  • Series prizes will be awarded to winners of each category with 3 or more competitors
  • To be eligible for a series prize, competitors must have raced in at least 4 races
  • special prizes awarded at the discretion of the race organisers.
